Cheriton House is a large Victorian country house 150 yards from the river in a picturesque village, just 20/25 minutes from Cambridge.

Now an award winning bed and breakfast run by Liz and Chris Langley, you are assured of a warm welcome with friendly and efficient service and a helpful and caring attitude throughout your stay.

With home made cakes on arrival, locally sourced breakfast ingredients, home made breads, jams, marmalades etc., good local pubs and restaurants, we hope that you will enjoy your stay and look forward to visiting us again soon.

Three of our rooms are situated on the ground floor, in a converted barn overlooking the garden and each of these has its own patio table etc. to enable you to enjoy the garden, throughout the year.

Our Breakfast Menu

* An extensive breakfast menu, all cooked to order and featuring your choice of several herbal teas, mueslis Continental breakfast, or an enormous traditional breakfast grill, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, omelettes and lots more.

* We have carefully sourced fresh local ingredients that are organic and/or free range wherever possible and are very pleased to offer our own home made cakes, breads, jams, marmalades –The wholemeal flour for our brown bread is milled 150 yards away at Houghton Mill !

* We are very happy for you to enjoy breakfast in our breakfast room or in the garden

Located in the historic village of Houghton, just 150 yards walk from the River Great Ouse and Houghton Mill (National Trust) Only 100 yards from the main village square. Houghton village is well served by 2 pubs, a general store/off licence and Post Office, an antique shop, hairdresser and MG Garage.

2 nights bed and breakfast, welcoming fruit and flowers and a bottle of chilled Champagne on arrival or at a time to suit you. -You may wish to hire a punt 150 yards away and enjoy it by the river, or with a summer picnic in our garden !

Walking/Birdwatching break

2 nights accommodation, a packed lunch on one day with maps etc. detailing various routes along some 26 miles of the Ouse Valley Way-and a welcoming pot of tea or coffee (or a steaming glass of mulled red wine) on your return.(or borrow a bike, at your own risk and subject to availability) -Or relax in one of the hides at Paxton Pits, an important bird watching site, including cormorants, gadwall and tufted duck and, in May each year, large numbers of nightingales to be heard. There are two guided trails here as well as additional footpaths around the reserve.

Remember you can combine these breaks if you wish with golf, a day at the Imperial War Museum at RAF Duxford -or one of their always popular flying displays, a day in Cambridge, horseracing at Newmarket or Huntingdon or one of several point to point courses locally.

All the above rates are per person per night and include full English breakfast, vat and packed lunch etc. where indicated. They do not include entrance fees to any attractions, golf courses or Paxton Pits
